Meet Rubana
I am Rubana Pestonji Sachdev, a governance, leadership and transformation practitioner, Independent Board Director, coach, mentor and founder of Joviraahh.
I have never been particularly inclined to follow convention simply because it was expected of me. After choosing not to join the family business, I struggled to find my first role. From there, my career took me across three continents and into institutions including BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and the Tata Group. I went on to hold Board and senior leadership roles, leading teams through significant periods of governance and regulatory change in complex, multinational environments.
The milestones on paper suggest a story of uninterrupted ascent; the reality was more layered. It blends ambition and uncertainty, achievement and interruption, responsibility and loss. I have experienced redundancy, spent eighteen months out of work, and been a primary caregiver to ageing parents and grandparents.
That continuum has taught me, time and again, to recalibrate, trust my instincts and begin again. It has also kept the student in me curious about the quieter influences behind the choices we make: intention, intuition, beliefs and mindset.
Joviraahh has emerged from that curiosity, and from a desire to bring together what I have learnt, what I continue to question, and the work I want to build.
